Attend Wedding 1 Month After Birth??

Question

Hi all! I’m hoping some mamas will be able to help me out with this. A very close friend of mine will be having her wedding next year, one month after my due date. I have no idea how I will feel after birth (this is my first!) and am unsure if I should plan on going or just RSVP no. 
It will be out of town, about 8 hours away from us in VT. I have debated about getting an AirBNB and having my parents come along with me and my husband to be there for us and the baby so we could attend the wedding. 
Do you think that is do-able at all or is it unrealistic? She’s a very close friend and I would hate to miss it, but I’m sure she would understand if I couldn’t make it because I just had a baby.

Very realistic! those first few weeks are super hard as everyone is adjusting, but by a month, you’ll probably have a good routine down! 
I think bringing your parents along is a good idea!

I think it's doable, but I probably would rsvp as a tentative yes and keep her updated. Most women I've known are exhausted even still a month after. I'm expecting our first in march so I can't speak from my own experience though.

I'm a month postpartum right now, and physically a wedding is totally doable. I feel totally fine. Mentally? Maybe. You will be sleep deprived, and if you are breastfeeding, that's a huge added burden. My son has days where he barely lets me put him down, bc all he wants is boob. Unless you've pumped and saved a bunch to have others feed, plan to bring your baby and spend a lot of the wedding nursing. If you have them feed, you may need to pump at the wedding depending on how long you'll be out. 
I'd give a tentative yes and see how your delivery and recovery go. Also to see what your baby allows.

My husband's sister "didn't know" she was pregant and had a c-section 5 days before our wedding. we went to Ohio to pick her up and drive her back to Wiscosnin for our wedding. She did well in the car and at the wedding (she left soon after dinner)

I would not. For the first month I couldn't stand to be in the car, standing up for more than a few minutes, I had diarrhea, and I was still bleeding heavily. The baby may be easy to deal with, but you are still healing! Especially if you have stitches .

My first son never once slept more than 3 hours at a time until 5 months and he screamed in his carseat. If you and your husband are very sleep deprived, or if you have a baby who hates the carseat, the 8 hour drive isn't advisable. If you have an easy baby,  it might be fine. The wedding itself isn't the concern for me, it's the long drive.

When my mam gave birth to me, she had me on the Thursday and was at her sisters wedding on the Saturday! And danced the night away! 🙊

My youngest was born July 17th and we were at our cousins wedding July 18th I was tired but everyone got to love on their new relative and we didn't have to miss their special day.
