stay home or go back to work?

Question

my son is 9 weeks old and I should be going back to work at 12 weeks. my husband and I have been talking about me not going back, he got another job because he doesn't want me to go back and honestly i don't either. I want to be with my son all the time and be the one to watch him grow and do his firsts. But I also do want to go back because I went through all this college to get my degree and am still paying student loans. And I don't want to feel like im not contributing to our family financially.   do any of you other stay at home mommas feel this way?

I promise you will never look back and think, "I wish I would have missed all of my baby's firsts so I could have made a few extra bucks." Stay home with him. It's 110% worth it!

heck no. I will contribute to my family by raising our son and keeping our home. plenty of time to go back later. if you can swing it, stay home and raise your baby!! he's only little once.

If I had the green light to stay home I would do it in a heartbeat. I am FIGHTING to stay home with our second. Let me tell you - you do not get that time or moments back. I'm certainly not going to give those precious moments of my daughter to a stranger. I am selfish and want those for myself. And i want no regrets with this baby. It will be our last  Just my two cents. Best wishes with your decision.

I just started my career as a nurse when I got pregnant. My career no longer mattered to me. My husband has always been supportive of me staying home with my daughter, just like your husband. 
I found a per diem position and now only work 3-4 times a month, mostly just to keep my skills current. It’s a win win situation for us all around. I still consider myself a SAHM because you can barely call 3 shifts a month “part time” lol. If this kind of position wasn’t available, I wouldn’t be working at all until my baby goes to preschool.

My little one is 11 weeks old and I am a stay-at-home mom with him. Sometimes I feel bad that I don’t contribute financially but I know that I do everything else and my husband don’t have to worry about anything when he comes home from work. He makes enough financially to support all of us.. I do miss work sometimes but I would rather be with my baby to watch him grow and learn new things, I don’t want him with a babysitter.

I decided to stay home with my son too. I'm 38 with my first child. I feel like I need to be home with him for at least the first year. It's been 4 months now and I regret nothing. If you are financially able, do it. It's so worth witnessing those little milestones like smiling or their first coo. 💖

If you can swing it, stay home. Financially we could do it, but my student loans will be forgiven with 4 more years at my job. I can't give that up, because I have a ton of loans. I feel trapped and wish I could be with my son.

I’m going back to work, putting in my 2 weeks ( which will actually be a month) and then I will stay home.
