Trying to be hopeful

My boyfriend and I have only been together for a few months but are older and know what we want in life and with each other. We are not TTC but are not “being careful” when it comes to having sex. We were together and had sex both days before I ovulated (ovulation occurred on October 2) and again were together and had sex each day during thanksgiving weekend October 6-8). This is my first time TTC and being with someone that wants the same things I do. I guess my question is when would be the most optimal day for me to take a pregnancy test to get the most accurate results? My next period is due October 16.
