TTC advice

So I recently went to my gyn because I was late five months but I wasn’t pregnant. I was TTC through out that whole time and i was confused so i went to my gynecologist and she prescribed progesterone for 10 days. I got my period one week after those 10 days and it still hasn’t gone away. I had a virtual appointment last night with my gynecologist and she is going to put me on birth control pills but me and my husband really want a baby and I don’t know if I should consider not taking the BCP’s. I need some advice or if someone is going through the same thing itll make me feel more better and itll be easier to consider my decision on what to do.
