Do I need to wash??

Do I need to wash all baby clothes in Drift before baby gets here? Even if it is new or used. I need advice first time mom... I haven't even had my baby shower and I have tons of hand me down clothes, new blankets, socks, hats, everything. Do I need to wash it all?

Yes wash them in any detergent that's dye and perfume free. Even new clothes have been handled by dozens of people.

Ok without a doubt wash all clothes your baby will wear, but don't take the tags off of everything just yet! My son hardly fit in newborn clothes when he was born and I already took the tags off of everything!

Yes. They're made in 3rd world country factories, handled by store employees and other shoppers. Not sanitary. However I think dreft is way over priced, I use All free and clear.

I would, just in case. It’s not going to hurt anything to wash it all. If you aren’t sure if your baby will fit into the new stuff, then just hold it back and wait until baby is here to wash or return.

Always wash new clothing and fabric items from the store, like sheets and towels and clothes. They are manufactured with a preservative agent like formaldehyde to keep them looking new and deter pests while stored in warehouses, not to mention who knows how they’ve been handled before getting to you. Dreft is way over priced, any dye and chemical free detergent will work fine for the first wash, and you’ll notice right away if your baby has a reaction and can switch brands until you find one that works.

Yes definitely! I would use either a detergent without scent or dyes or dreft. I buy both and mix them so the dreft lasts a lot longer and I still get the nice scent. You dontknow where the clothes have been and everyone touches them at the stores etc.

I would suggest yes. Most clothing actually tells you to prewash it. I know Carters does. My baby will be getting ALOT of hand me downs from my 2 year old. I literally kept everything. She wore most stuff only once! (first girl and I just could NOT stop shopping) but I will still wash everything before our new addition arrives. It's just safer, knowing she will have everything fresh, soft and clean.
