9 month old tenses and shakes?

My baby boy is 9 months old and recently when he’s excited, frustrated or sometimes for no reason tenses up, stretches both his arms out fists clenched, stretches the corners of his mouth and shakes for about 5 seconds. We found it funny but now I’m worrying about autism etc. Anyone else’s baby do this?

My daughter has been doing it as well and when we asked her ped. dr we were told it’s her way of expressing excitement but to keep an eye on it. You should always check with your doc if worried. Trust your instincts!

Yes. My son does this exact same thing. He's been doing it for a while now. I don't think it has anything to do with autism. I think it's just how they express their emotion for now.

My daughter does it to show excitement. Anytime she sees kids running around and playing or when Mickey Mouse comes on tv she will do that.

I totally don’t want to freak you out but a friend of mine just went through this and her daughter was actually seizing. It could be that your baby is just excited! But I would try to get it on video if you can and talk to your pedi about it just for peace of mind!
