Nah, still not as fun as complaining about Millennials. 
Seriously though, yes. There are distinct problems with the national education system. Disparity of resources, and the school to prison pipeline spring immediately to mind. 
I also recently read a thought provoking article in The Atlantic about the changing nature of kindergarten, it’s new focus on classroom readiness over exploratory play/learning, and the negative repercussions we’re now seeing as a result of the shift.

I remember reading that teenagers have as much stress nowadays as the average psych patient in the early 1950s. My first year of college someone from my year hung himself during finals week. The pressure is real.

Absolutely! It’s not only the education but also the way in which they handle things such as bullying; all they do is talk about it and ‘raise awareness’ but when push comes to shove, nothing is done because apparently their hands are tied and have no real control over the situation yet people sue them years later over the very thing they claimed to have no control over.

A bunch of men who have never set foot in a public classroom are creating regulations for them. How can you properly regulate something you don’t understand?? It’s just asinine.

I agree. My parents have even noticed it among me and my siblings. They were low-key horrified at the amount of homework I was given in fifth grade. It was also much harder with ADHD and I struggled with a lot if basic math. It caused a lot of mental health issues and while it definitely followed me into college, I've got my shit together a little bit more and I'm doing something I enjoy.

Obviously yes. America has some of the most sucky education. We aren’t even in the top 5 internationally, I’m pretty sure we aren’t even in the top 10 anymore either. I believe we are ranked 14th in cognitive abilities and educational attainment, and then 24th in literacy, 17th in educational performance,

As a student I can confidently say school was the main reason for my suicidal tendencies and still is 😣 I've even spoke about wanting to end my life in front of teachers before and not one thing has been done about it. So yes the system is flawed.

Definitely something wrong. Not only the education, the pressure put on children, and the way bullying is handled, but teachers seem to have too much control over certain aspects. I'm not saying that teachers shouldn't control anything, there still has to be a degree of law in these places otherwise there'd be complete chaos. When I was in middle school we would have to run a mile every week with certain stipulations on how it was done, i.e. "can only walk in marked areas," "have to do jumping jacks every other lap," etc. This one kid had asthma and was still forced to do this in weather that sometimes reached 112 degrees Fahrenheit, before Christmas an ambulance had to be called 5 different times because he collapsed. I've been kept after school when I had a doctors appointment, not allowed to eat a quick snack in the hallway despite thw fact I'm hypoglycemic and have to make sure my blood sugar stays up. you get the idea.
