Junel Birth Control Effectiveness

Hello. So I’m wondering if you guys know anything about the Junel Birth control pill. It’s the combination pill, 21 pack. My mother tried to tell me that it doesn’t actually prevent birth and that I can still get pregnant but it’s only to control my ovarian cyst problems. I looked around google and every site says it’s an effective birth control just like any other. Should I be worried and be more careful about using condoms or am I safe? I’m just now becoming a bit more sexually active with my boyfriend but i want to make sure I’m still being careful since I’m not ready for any babies yet 😬. Thanks gals ✌🏻
