Weight gain at 20 weeks?

I’m almost 20 weeks pregnant and I’ve only gained 4 lbs so far. I just had my anatomy scan and everything is perfect - baby girl is measuring about 4 days early. The doctor didn’t say anything but I’m kind of worried I’m not gaining enough. Thoughts?

If the doctor didn’t tell you they were concerned, then I wouldn’t worry about it. But if you gain no weight for more than two weeks between the 4th and 8th months, then your doctor will help you gain the necessary weight. For the first trimester, you don’t need any extra calories since baby is still so tiny. During the second trimester you should be eating an extra 300 calories, and during the third trimester an extra 500 calories because that’s when baby puts on the most weight.

I'm 23+ weeks and still under my pre pregnancy weight. Baby looks good and is measuring perfect. I did have an appointment last week and doctor brought up that he was going to keep a close eye on my weight from here on out but that he wasn't really concerned.

You’re fine. I’m in a similar boat. I initially lost weight and am now only a few lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight at 23 weeks. I’m expecting my biggest gain to be after 30 weeks.

that's normal. the weight gain isn't really as important as ppl make it out to be. what you're eating, nutrition wise, is more important than how much you're eating or gaining.
