The Kissing Sailor (TW: sexual assault)

I almost didn’t believe the captions on this photo when I first saw it. I looked it up and read several articles that confirmed it’s validity. I’m really disappointed that my first reaction was to doubt any sexual assault occurred. I am taken aback by the truth behind this photo. I always thought it was a sailor coming home to his girlfriend. This is an iconic photo that literally represents a time period in American History. I am disgusted by both my own ignorance and the perpetuation of such a public violation. I’ll post screenshots of more of the story in the comments.
