Can a baby sleep in a pack and play instread of a crib?

I've heard mixed things about pack and plays and baby sleeping in them, so I'm looking for a little real world advice. If yes, would the pictured pack and play be safe?

I’m planning on sleeping our newborn in a pack n play but it’s not a bassinet or anything like that, it’s just a flat infant sleeper section.

sigh, we have a pack n play, my son slept in it all of like four times (in different months lol) but he doesn't like it. so I do recommend investing in the mattress that is made for them. we are going to buy one this month. but they are safe if used properly. but the bassinet attachment that we had kind of wobbled and it scared my son when he moved. so now he doesn't like it 😥

A lot of people go with this option because of how big and expensive cribs can be. I put my daughters straight to their cribs when they were infants. With this next one, we will be using a PnP in our room because there's just not enough room for a second crib in our home.

Im planning on getting this which flips over into a changing table using the handle, and asking for a Graco Pack n Play for my baby shower. That way, when he outgrows the bassinet part, the changing table is still useful until 30 lbs and Id have the Pack n Play  for him to sleep in.

yes it's fine. The sides are mesh and the mattress is firm and flat
