2 sacs, 1 empty at 7w4d. Any chance of viability for empty sac?

I had my first US today. It showed 2 sacs. one with a baby measuring 8 weeks exactly (i say 7w4d because I know the exact day I ovulated) with a heart rate of 164. The other slightly smaller sac was empty. Any chance there could still be a twin? I just knew it was twins since I found out I was pregnant and now I dont know. What are your experiences? (good or bad)

I had a transvaginal US at about 7 weeks and saw 2 sacs, 1 with a baby, 1 empty. At 8 weeks we had another US and saw 2 babies measuring the same gestational age. Currently 27+4 with twins; sexes unknown. The second baby must’ve been hiding! When is your next US? Praying for good news!💜💜

There's a chance. But, I wouldn't get your hopes too high up. At 8 weeks, with an empty sac, you've probably lost one. It's not necessarily the heartbeat you should be concerned about, one of mine hid at around that time and we couldn't get his heartbeat, but now, he's using my stomach as a punching bag while he's in there.

I would think if it’s empty and there’s no viable heartbeat for the second sac, it’s going to be just one baby. They would definitely be able to see something at 7 weeks. Eventually your body will absorb it

My sac looked empty until 9 weeks. Have hope mama ! There's a chance.

Thanks, Ladies. I know theres no way it would just be behind or something.  Or the heart isn't beating yet.  I'm wondering if its just not visible in an abdominal US. Maybe its hiding back there somewhere. I should have asked for a vaginal US.  Ill know when i go back on November 10th, I guess 😀

I’m having the same trouble!! They couldn’t tell if twins or was twins as we had no full view of second sac that’s hiding behind the first. I go back in 10 days to know for sure!!! Good luck mama!! Here’s my first ultrasound
