How much do you spend on birthday gifts?

My daughters 4th birthday is January 3rd.. I am trying to figure out how much is a good amount to spend.. I was thinking a reborn doll with stuff togo with it but it will add up fast and won't look like I got her a whole lot..

We generally spend $50-75 max

I don't focus on the dollar amount. I focus on what my child is interested in at the time. 
Also if I spend a lot on the birthday party itself i do a smaller gift. 
Example... Bowling ally party ($200) 
Small gift 
Back yard party ($50) 
Larger gift

For a child that young I wouldn’t spend more than $50. Once she gets older and knows how to take care of her things you could spend a lot more!
