How many times?????

Is there a specific number of times you have to change a newborn a day? I was told by Mil not to change him too frequently... First time mom and I've been curious about this. I'm 8 months so I'm in the "ask questions"phase. I want to be prepared for my little one's arrival.

You change them every time they pee. And that’s 16+ times a day. Never ever leave a baby in a wet or soiled diaper

Change them whenever their diaper is used. Wether they just pee or poop. It’s not healthy to leave a child in their own excretions. Don’t listen to your MIL sounds like she may be giving you some poor advice.

My sister changed my niece even more often then she pooped and peed to avoid rashes. She had such delicate skin. But you don't let your child sit in their own wastes. Not healthy.
