I have two fur babies that are about 11 years old and set in their ways. We adopted them a while back and weren't planning on children. One is very quite and great with kids. My 120 pound alert dog... not so much. She's old and grumpy. Never had been violent, but is large and awkward and barks... a lot..... A LOT. I took her recently to training where a keeper had her a week. She stated that she is very stubborn and has a hard time grasping training when she is around anything else. I a quiet room she does okay, but around stimulus cannot focus. Any tips? My husband says when the baby comes she will straighten up lol. Obviously that is not the case. We have given her a shock collar to get her trained on not barking/ following commands. She has burned through the batteries and takes the shock on high. I don't want her miserable either.... the vet says she will have a hard time and can prescribe her anxiety medications but they are very expensive...
