6 weeks. If your swelling is all the way down and you want to change it before then, go to a shop and have them change it out for you, just the first time. That way they can check it out and make sure it’s actually healed enough to switch out. 6 weeks is typical for most all piercings, and if you switch it before the inside is actually healed enough, you’ll have to start taking care of it as though it’s just been pierced again.

Wherever you got the piercing, the person that did the piercing should have given you tips on after care and what to expect and they should have given you advice on how long is best to wait before you change the jewelry.  They are not professional if the did not give you this advice. Don't go back to them in the future.

I have a few piercings, not a labret, but I would imagine after 4 weeks should be fine. Usually piercings around the mouth heal rather quickly.
