Possibly getting induced?

Question

So I went to see my midwife this morning and I had sugar in my urine for the second time so I have to go have some tests done next week for diabetes. If my sugars stay high, I will have to be induced next weekend I’m guessing. I’m a FTM so I don’t really know what to expect if I get induced. I will be 39 weeks if/when I get induced. What should I be expecting?

I was 40+1 when I was induced with my little girl due to low fluid. I got told to be at the hospital for 7am, they put the first pessary inside my vagina at around 9am. I had to wait at least 30 minutes before getting up so it had time to dissolve. Went to get some breakfast in the hospital cafe, & started to get some very slight contractions but nothing major. Around 11am, things started to get a tiny bit more intense & I got examined. Nothing majorly started happening for me until around 2pm, where they broke my waters & then the contractions came very rapidly. I was having about 10 seconds inbetween each one. At this point it was 4pm, I had a shot of pethidine in my bum cheek & it knocked me out. I was asleep for 4 hours before I woke up & needed to push. 2 hours (which felt like 2 minutes) later my daughter was born. I had complicatins after with delivering the placenta which meant I had to go down the theatre but for me personally, the idea of being induced/labour was more painful than the actual thing. But of course everyone is different. Good luck x
