I figured this could be somewhat controversial? Lol. So me and my ex split 3 weeks after our daughter was born. Because we were engaged when she was born i obviously didnt think twice about giving her his last name. Well now that we arent together im really considering hyphenating her last name so she will have both of our last names. He is the only one in his family that has his last name because he has a different dad than all of his siblings and he has never even met his real dad. So his last name doesnt mean much to him. My whole family has the same last name and if i dont carry on the last name i will be the last generation to have it. Im just afraid her name will be too long then having 4 names in it. Im not going to completely change her last name because he is somewhat still in the picture and that would be a battle im not willing to fight right now. Should i hyphenate it or not?
