Are birthing classes worth the $$?

I really want to go to a birthing class since this is my first child and I think it would help my hubby to understand the birthing process too.
Did you attend one? Did you enjoy it and learn new things? 
In my area the cheapest one is a 3 week class and it’s $175/2 adults to attend..

We're going to start taking the Bradley Method class on Wednesday since I want to try doing a non - epidural birth.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Honestly I watched you tube videos of csections and vagina deliveries. I was just scared to death and wanted to see the raw footage.y daughter is 10 weeks old and honestly looking back I was too worried. The delivery was fast and my epidural didn't work at all until the stitching of my 3rd degree tear. To be honest it wasn't as awful as I was expecting but I also was on a mission to get her out lol. You may benefit from just watching videos.

I didn't do them.
I just went in knowing one way or another we'd have a baby.
Trusted my instincts post birth too - The birthing center I was discharged to said they'd never met new parents who hadn't called them in to ask questions or get help.

My husband and I are attending one, and we feel like it's worth it to us. Although there is stuff you may know already, it's nice to hear it all laid out in front of you and you can have all your questions answered. 
If you really want to go and can afford it, I'd say why not. 
But if anything, at least do a hospital tour, that is most especially helpful.

I told my ex we could have gotten by with YouTube videos instead of the classes we did. We did them for free at the hospital though, maybe you could look into that?

I really enjoyed the one my husband and I did, although I wish they would have spent a little more time on infant care and less on labor/birth. I felt like I learned some good coping skills, but I think the biggest thing is we developed some good relationships with some of the others in the class. My son is 2 and we still keep in touch with a bunch of the folks from our class, and we try to get together a couple times a year!

I took one at our hospital and found it helpful. It was more about how labor happens, different scenarios you might encounter during labor and delivery, and all about different interventions they might offer or suggest (everything from epidural to c-section). As a first time I found this helpful. They also spent about 10 minutes showing some ways to labor at home since they can’t do much for you in those first few hours. It was just the right amount of information and just the right amount of time spent on “natural” pain management. I also go acquainted with the hospital, took a tour and learned when to call and where to go. Perfect for a first-timer.

that's a lot of money for a birthing class. mine was$80 for 2 people together. anything over $100 is way too much.
