When to announce pregnancy

My husband and I are having a hard time agreeing on when to announce our pregnancy to our families. I would like to announce it at thanksgiving when i will be 7 weeks. He wants to wait until Christmas. I do like the idea of telling them on Christmas but I just don’t know if I can wait that long! When do people normally tell their families?

We told immediate family at 9 weeks, extended family around 20 weeks and will eventually get around to social media. Maybe 25 weeks?

Do it when it feels right to you! There’s no wrong time to tell your family. I would hold off on announcing on any social media until 12+ weeks though.

I told my parents and my in laws immediately! My thought was Lord forbid I lost the baby early on then I’d have emotional support and understanding from someone besides my SO.

Do it when you are comfortable! I'm telling immediate family next week at 7 weeks; even though I kind of want to wait til the ultrasound at 9 weeks (I'm having horrible morning sickness so I want to get it out the way). But, I won't be telling anyone else til New Years and I'll be 15 weeks by then.

I told my mum when I was around 8 weeks but mostly because she came to stay and I knew shed figure something out (I was really suffering with nausea and exhaustion). We told the rest of our families at 14 weeks once we had the results back from our nuchal testing. It depends entirely on when you feel comfortable, we wanted to wait just to make sure everything was ok before we told people.

I waited until after I had my first ultrasound and heard the heartbeat for the first time. I was around 12 weeks, do whatever you're comfortable with.

We just told my mom and his dad last week, at 9 weeks. I wanted to tell sooner but I was in a car accident at 5 weeks so I wanted to make sure everything was ok at our 8 week ultrasound before I told anyone. I'm planning on telling the rest of our families after my 12 week appt.
Personally, SOs family cant keep their mouths shut to save their lives so if we told the rest of them then EVERYONE would know, and a lot of them were pretty insensitive when we had to put our cat down so I don't even want to imagine dealing with them after the loss of a baby, so its not hard at all for me to wait lol
It's totally up to you though, it's great to have support.

My first pregnancy once I found out I immediately told everyone. Five years later I’m pregnant with my second. Yes I’m excited but we going to announce it around Christmas when I’m 13 weeks second semester.
