My cousin was due this Saturday that just passed, today she went in to L&D; and was told that if her baby is born today, he will not survive for his lungs are very under developed. They injected her with something to keep him in a little longer which I didn’t know was possible????? In hopes that he develops a little more? Is this possible????

Well she doesn’t have health insurance but the baby will through the state and I think she will be living with her grandmother. Which also isn’t a very safe place for her to be either, her grama recently beat her older son who’s only 3 so bad that she had to leave he house for 3 weeks. So sad

Of course that affects the baby :( heartbreaking. Does she have a safe place to go after the baby comes? And access to regular medical care for the baby?

Not that I know of but she didn’t receive any prenatal care until she was almost due. The baby was so under developed at 8 months that he was only 2 pounds when her due date was just a few weeks away. She has gotten hurt a lot during this pregnancy and never once went to ER and dad to be gave her a really bad beating not long ago which left her in the hospital for a night. She’s been through a lot during this pregnancy so idk if that affects the baby at all.

Happened to my friends last year. Went into labor 6 wks early, they tried to stop it but she came out. She was in NICU for a month because her lungs were not developed but shes all good! Dr's took great care of her and shes a healthy baby

I had to be induced a month early. I got the first shot but he came before I could get the second shot. He had to spend a week in the nicu but I have a very healthy 17 month old now
