Probiotics for baby?

What are your thoughts on probiotics for babies? 
Is anyone using it or has used it for their baby? What caused you to start using it and what was the outcome?
What about probiotics for mommy? I currently use liquid acidophilus for my digestive issues.

We use a powder and have since 1 month. I'm not sure if it's a huge difference, but I know it's good for him.

My baby was 4 months old and had a reaction to rotovirus vaccine and it messed his guts up for a month and I kept going to the doc and they said keep an eye on the diareah so I went and got a second opinion and the doc said use half a packet of baby probiotics and his poop started going back to normal 3 days later

I know many moms use probiotics like Gerber Soothe for babies with colic. Or also if Baby has digestive issues like you stated.
