Purchasing used breast pump?

Do you think it’s okay to get a used breast pump? I would only be using the motor as this is all I need and I purchase brand new parts for my pump. I just wanted an extra motor for work. What’s your take on this? Is it okay?

Most medela pumps are open systems. Meaning milk particles enter the diaphragm within the motor itself. It can not be sanitized. I would never buy a used pump from someone I don’t know for that reason.

That's what I did. Got a hospital grade medela symphony and bought all new parts. Just needed the motor!
