Benadryl question

My son has his first cold. I’m already tying all the non medication ways to ease his stuffy runny nose. So I’m not looking for info on those methods or stories about how you don’t use meds. I’m trying to ask anyone who has used Benadryl for cold symptoms. I read on a pediatrician website that Benadryl can be used for cold/cough symptoms and I want to know of anyone has used it that way before. If he gets worse and the non medicated methods aren’t working I want to know if anyone has had success with Benadryl. Here is a screen shot of the info from the pediatrician site.
