How does the IUD affect you emotionally?

I'm thinking about getting the IUD and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it has any adverse affects mentally? I have pretty bad depression and I know that the pill and some others can cause it to get worse. Is it different for IUD's without hormones? I'd also ask my doctor before getting it but as I'm thinking about it this is helpful, thank you :)

Depends on which one. I got the paragard one (Copper), cause I don't do well with the extra hormones... I've heard the Mirena isn't too bad, but it depends on the person tbh.

I have the Skyla and honestly it’s a rollercoaster.  I hate to admit because this is really the only birth control method I feel well “protected.” However, I’ve gotten extremely moody, tired and anxious. Everyday it’s a new thing. Not to mention I’ve been feeling a little depressed and feel so distant from my friends. All body’s react differently, but I would definitely recommend you to speak to your doctor about the iud to see if it’s for you.
