Help!!!

So me and my husband are ttc and we have had no luck!! I have pcos... I’ve known for about 4 years.. I went to a new obgyn and asked her if there was anything I could take to help speed up the process of me getting pregnant and she told me that we have to try for a year before they take the next step with fertility drugs and further testing. We have been trying for a while but had to stop because my endocrinologist wanted me to take victoza and I couldn’t get pregnant on that medication .. I stopped taking it because it made me feel yucky .. so now we have been trying since I stopped that back in June or July? But she said that wasn’t long enough .. I want to know how you went about it .. if I should just ignore my obgyn and maybe go and find a fertility specialist that will help me become a mommy for the first time :)
