First trimester bleeding

I have been contemplating if I wanted to post this here or not but I have googled all I can. I am 6wks 4 days and about a week ago I noticed two quarter size spots of blood in my underwear. Waited a day and it continued so I went to the ER. Cervix was still closed heart rate was 65 bpm, and the baby was measuring 2.5mm which I was only 5 weeks at the time (thinking I was almost 7). Didn’t get much Information from ER. We had just left for vacation and I wasn’t due back in town until Monday so I monitored he bleeding and saw my OB when I got home. Cervix was still closed (still bleeding and clotting) had an ultrasound the next day, baby had almost fouled in size (4.9) and heart rate had increased to 110 bpm, which tech said they like to see over 100 at this stage. OB said all was normal and my EDD is 6/25. However, I am still bleeding, bright red sometimes little darker and it’s enough that just sits on top of a Pad and I have no cramping. I can’t help but sit here and wonder everyday that I see blood that something is wrong and it’s stressing me out. Is this a sign of a birth defect? I think everyday I may still miss carry.. just needing to vent a little and see if anyone else has experience with this? They cannot figure out what’s causing the bleeding.
