Upper abdominal cramping on left side

i have been gettig some on and off cramping in my left upper abdominal. i was wondering if this could be ectopic? i havent been having many symptoms but my tests keep coming positive.. im scared. i had an ultrasound and they said they couldnt see anything but it was probably too ealry on. i am 5 weeks and 2 days..
