How common is it to get pregnant

I’m 26 and have two planned kids. I’m currently not on birth control and only use condoms. We sometimes fool around in the beginning without one but always put one on after a few mins. Am I safe to continue? Don’t want to go on birth Control and hubby doesn’t want to get snipped...
