No ultra sound????

Question

I’m so upset... I’m almost 8 weeks... my first apt is tomorrow and the doctors assistant confirmed the appointment and I️ asked to make sure I’m going to get an ultra sound and she said I️ won’t.... if I️ don’t get an ultra sound then I️ do not want to go....
She’s going to check with the doctor and call me back.....
Is that normal?
And is it unreasonable of me to cancel until they are willing to do one ???

It’s normal and I don’t think you should cancel. The first couple weeks and Mo the are critical for baby so it’s important you get with your doctor to talk about everything and have your tests done that you and baby need to do. 
Usually that early there isn’t anything to see yet anyways. 
Don’t be selfish and cancel your appointment. If anything ask him when you see him for an ultrasound. But you need to go to that appointment.

The first appointment is for medical history and blood tests. It is definitely unreasonable to demand an ultrasound the moment you walk in. At my office, they don’t do an ultrasound until 10 weeks. That’s fairly common. It also maybe be an issue with your insurance. They may not want to take you as a patient now. I’d call back and ask what their procedures are and when they typically do their ultrasounds instead.

No ultra sound????
