What's the best place to rent a car for road trip?

4 people (one of them a baby), carseat, luggage and a stroller from Phoenix Arizona to Northern California... What companies do you recommend? should we get an SUV or Minivan ?

We use Enterprise even though they are usually a little more expensive. We had very bad experiences with Avis and Hertz in our area, so we went back to Enterprise.

Check the websites for your car insurance company and credit card/bank/AAA membership, etc. A lot of times they will have deals for their customers with whatever rental company they contract with. We usually get half off our rental rate or something similar.
