Is it selfish??

Question

My husband and I recently found out we are pregnant again. With my first we announced around 7 weeks...this time around I decided I don’t want to announce until 20 weeks. I want to enjoy my pregnancy with my husband and daughter before I get everybody’s thoughts and opinions.
I read online that people say waiting that long to tell family is selfish. What do you guys think?

I think you should share your pregnancy whenever you are ready. It’ll be a nice surprise for everyone! I don’t think it’s selfish at all. 
I do wonder a bit how you would hide it that long. I’m 22 weeks now and in just the last 3-4 weeks I’ve really started to show more.

Not selfish at all. When I got pregnant last year, my ex who I was with at the time told his ex I was pregnant (he had to tell her because they have a kid) and she told everyone before I got the chance to by putting it on Facebook. So family and friends were all congratulating me and I was super pissed. And his exes friends were talking shit. In one comment someone even said “fuck him and fuck his new kid” I ended up miscarrying  after and I was so angry. It’s best to not tell people until you’re ready.

Wow, people actually said that it was selfish?? If you want to wait until then to tell others then do just that! Though, if you start really showing before then are you going to try to hide it or will you tell them sooner? I only ask because with my second child you could tell that I was obviously pregnant around 15-16 weeks. I wouldn't have been able to hide it from anyone who saw me...lol.

I waited til 22 weeks with #2. We've had 2 m/c already and I just wanted to be sure everything was going okay with my peanut until I let the world know we were expecting again. :)
