Advice from a doctor- wanted to share

Clk53 • TTC baby #1 praying for my BFP soon. 💘

Hi ladies,

For anyone TTC like me I wanted to share advice I got from a doctor. It helped me calm down and maybe it might give you peace of mind too.

1.) Not getting pregnant even when you plan everything perfectly and on the right time is normal. There's only a 20ish% chance of getting pregnant even if you do it on all your fertile days. Being pregnant is truly a miracle. Don't beat yourself up or think something is wrong if you don't get pregnant after "doing it all perfectly."

2.)drinking alcohol in your TWW or fertile days really doesn't affect anything. There's little to no research that shows this. Of course as soon as you find out you're pregnant- stop immediately. Even she said, how many stories do you hear of people getting pregnant after one night stands with alcohol? Don't stop having fun and living your life.

3.) Stop googling your symptoms. Everyone is different. What lead to one person BFP might not lead to yours and visa versus. You might not even have symptoms for a while.

4.) Don't count yourself out because of "period cramps." Your body could absolutely mimic the same feeling with a BFP.

5.) Stress. Stress is one of the leading causes of a prolonged TTC time. Stop stressing.

6.) She recommended every other day. Of course you can absolutely get pregnant if you DTD every day in fertile window, many women have. She said in all of her fertility trials and clinics and research that she found doing it every other day makes the sperm count just a little bit higher (24 hours between) and can increase chances.

7.) she suggested takin prenatal as soon as you start trying (I already have been).

Anyway, this helped me calm down a bit. I hope maybe it might be useful to some of you and maybe ease your minds. To anyone that has been TTC without a BFP for a long time, I am truly sorry. Each BFN gets more and more heartbreaking. BABY DUST TO ALL OF YOU!!! My AF is due next week, I hope she stays away.
