Is it weird to throw your own baby shower?

I’m a FTM and I️ just figured I️ did my own baby shower. I️ mean I️ want to be the one decorating and setting up stuff with my friends and family helping. 
My mom thinks this is really weird I️ would do this. 
Anyone else doing this?

Bought all my own crap (food, decorations) and stuff cause money is tight with my mom and sis and I don’t wanna put that on them. Totally fine in my opinion. My best friend wanted to help plan hers. She helped pick everything and was involved in all the planning but me and her mom technically threw the shower.

i planned my baby shower. Mine is next weekend and I picked all the decor and food and my family and church bought it all because they didn't want me spending money on my own shower but allowed me to have it the way I want. They're even paying to rent a building for me because our church is under renovations. I shall see how it goes! I don't have much family left and barely have friends but it'll be fun either way since it's my first baby.
