Is it greedy to have a baby shower for second baby if they are close in age?

I had a baby shower for my son who is 4 months old and found out a few weeks ago that I'm pregnant with baby number 2 and I'm debating on having another one but want options for other people to see if I should or not.

I've never been to a baby shower for a second baby no matter how close or far  apart the children are  Usually showers for second babies are a no (in my opinion). I do know a few people though that had a 'sprinkle' with a few close family and friends (like 5 to 10 people max).

Personally, if it were one of my friends I would be annoyed and find it greedy. I do believe every baby and birth should be celebrated, but a shower with more gifts is too much to ask of people, especially considering you just had one. Maybe a bums and books get together where you provide the snacks and beverages but ask people to bring a book or diapers for new baby. I think that sounds more appropriate

Yes and no. If baby number 2 is a girl then go for another baby shower or if you really need more stuff if you really need it.

I can’t even imagine thinking about it. Everyone just wants gifts for everything now a days! Unless you just have a party and don’t ask for gifts.

No not when you just had one. Why would you need more things when you have a baby right now will be the the thought on people's minds .

In my opt, showers are for getting those much needed items and celebrating the new baby. Sounds like your kids will be a little over a year apart. All of the expensive things (car seat, stroller, crib, etc...) you should already have. I would have to say that having another full blown shower would be tacky. Unless this is a new baby with a new man (because it’s almost a given that his family will want to throw a shower) or the kids are years apart (ie. 5,6+). In my opinion, those are the only times a second or more shower is cool.

I don’t ever think it’s “greedy” to celebrate the amazing blessing that is a child. All children should be celebrated whether it’s your 1st or 10th. What makes the first more important than any other child?

My husbands family is insisting on a second shower for us. We are doing instead a baby celebration party we are inviting people having cake etc. But we are not setting up a registry or anything because we don’t need anything since my first is 18mo.

I didn't have a baby shower with my first 3 but my Girlfriend said her an her mother will definitely throw me one for the 4 th baby as she is gonna be considered daddy an her mom will be grandmaw
