What would you do if your doctor does not approve of smoking marijuana during pregnancy, but you feel that it is ok?

Not looking for any hate or criticism. I understand there is a stigma, a dark cloud if you will, over the word marijuana or weed. So if you don’t really know anything about the medical usage or benefits of it, please don’t respond until you’ve done some actual research from credible sources. I’m asking within this Stoners group because I would assume most people in here are educated on it and I feel more comfortable asking in here.

So... I’m a daily pot smoker with my MMC and found out a couple of weeks ago that I’m pregnant. I have done research and spoken to quite a few mothers who smoked pot either a little bit during pregnancy or never stopped smoking and they all recommend it and have very healthy, bright children.

There is not a lot of medical research tied to MARIJUANA smoking and negative outcomes during pregnancy (let alone when you’re not pregnant). TOBACCO and the toxins in cigarettes of course are a different story, I don’t smoke cigarettes.

Any who, I am 6 weeks, 1 day pregnant, and I feel that a little use here and there is ok. I am not using to the extent I was before becoming pregnant.

MY ISSUE: my obgyn doctor does not agree with this, as do many other people.

I feel that it’s a lack of education and a stigma that this is a “class” whatever drug, when it’s NOT! It’s a plant. It’s been around forever.

People are subscribed man-made chemicals with horrendous side effects during pregnancy for all sorts of things, yet have an issue with a natural source that has proven facts of medical benefits.

My concern: I’ve heard that they can test me and baby for thc and there may be consequences involved.

Also, were you ever tested while pregnant? If so, how did that pan out for you?
