Deserve to be raped?!

So this weekend I was at a friends birthday party. We were out in town in a nightclub and went back to another friends house after the night out as it was his 21st birthday. His dad came downstairs and started to clear people out which was totally acceptable - it was late and we were loud. We go to a house a few doors down and stay there an hour or 2. For some reason the guys suggest going back to the previous house, we get there and there’s not many people up. Me and a friend go into the living room and this guys dad comes in again. I’m an extremely polite girl, would never be cheeky or rude and I was literally sitting down quietly. This man is asking us if we have a way home just general chat and all of a sudden he goes crazy at me. He throws a blanket on me and says that I’m disgusting, I’m a disgrace. He then says, and I wish I was kidding, “with everything you see about women getting raped and abused, it’s really no wonder when they’re dressed like you, you look like a prostitute, you‘d nearly deserve it ”. I was in shock, staring at the ground. I hate myself for this but I was so shook that I couldn’t even stand up for myself. I bawled my eyes out and he wouldn’t let me leave but instead proceeded to send a tirade of abuse against me. I eventually got past him and left, another guy stood up for me (so grateful to him) and we all left. I’ll admit my dress was low but ITS 2017 BITCH I CAN WEAR WTF I WANT. I went to the police and they got in contact with this man who said that his comments were justified and that he wasn’t sorry in any way. This isn’t the first time I’ve dealt with remarks from men but this was by far the worst. So ladies, to any of you who have gone through something similar or worse, I have so much respect and love for you. Rape and abuse is NEVER a woman’s fault, and honestly I’m angrier that I didn’t clap back at this remark over anything he said against me personally. Have any of y’all gone through something similar?

TLDR; We were at a friends party when my friends dad made remarks that I was disgusting for what I was i wearing, and that women who dress like me deserve to get raped and abused. This man showed no remorse and said his comments were justified when we asked the police to get in contact with him.

It’s truly appreciated so much and also it’s so nice to see women lifting eachother up rather than beating them down. For those asking why I went back to the house after everyone had left, tbh I was just following my friends! But everyone had been asked to leave because there was such a large amount, it wasn’t any big deal that we were in the house again simply because we were being quiet. He didn’t say anything to the boys who had come back of course! But anyways, thanks again to all of you and this has really helped me deal with the whole situation ❤️
