Weird Period

So first I normally have heavy periods with really bad cramps that normally last all day and period for about 5 days. But now after 11 months of birthcontrol I quit taking my pills four months ago to give my body a bit of a break. My period is just weird now. A week before my expected period I spot extremely light and I get no period cramps or other symptoms. I spot for about three days before my period really starts and get really dull cramps that dont hurt but annoy me. Should i be worried or blessed for the cycle change??
