How was your coming out experience?

I’ve only come out to two people who I know personally, but they both took it well and were really supportive of me, and it made them feel safe enough to come out to me as well.

I had mixed results. Most of my friends were pretty good about accepting that I’m Bi and a few had follow up questions but was cool about it. My best friend laughed and said she thought I was a lesbian the whole time and said she was half right anyway! 😂 my dad accepted it and didn’t care. But mother did not accept it well. Not that she hated that I was Bi, but didn’t understand and thought it was a faze even though I’ve been bi for ~10 years now. FYI- she was the last one to find out was told about 2 weeks ago when everyone else knew for years...

coming out as bi in 1994 was bad. Coming out as trans in 2017 was USUALLY favourable.

I'm bi and never officially came out, I don't speak to my family and haven't for years so they have no idea and I'm good with that, everyone else I know knows because a couple of years ago I told the guy I was sleeping with at the time (in a message) and his friend went through my phone when I was in another room, read all the messages between us and told everyone. At the time it only bothered me a little bit cos I'd always been more of a 'if people ask I'll tell them but don't need to specifically come out' but now it really bothers me because a lot of people started treating me differently after that
