Help?
I’m 22 weeks and have decided I DO NOT want my MIL in the delivery room. She can be in there while I’m laboring but the minute it’s time to push, I want her out. I live with her at the moment and I’m absolutely terrified to tell her that she’s not going to be in the room.. She already gets upset I call my mom for everything and that I want my mom more than I want her..
She’s had it in her head since my SO and I have started talking about having babies that she’ll be in the room. Her exact words were “I’ll be in the room when my grandbaby is born and not a single person will keep me from doing so.” She’s told family that she WILL be in the room, that it’s her “right to be in the room” just as much as it’s my moms right to be in the room.
My MIL is the type of person to pick on you while you’re in pain, tell everyone how much of a b*tch you were while delivering AND she’ll tell everyone for YEARS to come that she saw my boobs and hoohaa.. I truly don’t want that.
Did any of you ladies have your MIL in the room while delivering? If so, do you regret it? If not, how did you tell her? Did it start a fight or argument? When should I tell her? I really am scared it’ll start an argument and with me living with her, I don’t want that awkwardness..
MY mom will be in the room, that’s something I’ve made clear for years. She’ll be in there mainly for support.
