Buying baby supplies before getting pregnant?

This will only be the second month that DF and I are TTC. I have a friend who is also TTC and she and her husband have started buying baby supplies (only small things like pacifiers, blankets, onesies, etc) in preparation. I really liked the idea when I heard it but one of my other friends said that it was creepy and weird. Thoughts?

Honestly my grandparents usually get me money for Christmas and I'm thinking about buying a crib I've got my eye on 🤷🏼‍♀️ we're not even officially ttc yet but it's a good deal lol

I did and I don't regret it baby stuff and pregnancy stuff is expensive and there's a lot of things to get if its ur first. I suggest getting a size bigger sports bras before mine got a cup size bigger 2 months in and some stretchy pants lots of bloating first trimester. Sending some baby dust to u🎆

I have the same temptations. My husband and I haven't made it public knowledge yet that we are ttc. We are hoping to keep it a secret until it happens. I honestly feel like buying items (that I definitely already have picked out) would give me some sort of false excitement. After all these months of disappointment I don't think I could handle that. 
But definitely NOT creepy!

I don't think it's creepy at all, since you both agree you want to have children. I just wouldn't spend too much money, or buy too much stuff that you don't have room for it.

I️ accidentally clicked the wrong option. I️ meant “do it.” My husband and I️ also did this and ended up using all the items we got before we conceived.
We didn’t buy any clothing but we bought items we knew we’d want/need like pacifiers.
