How long did you wait after your first baby was born to start trying for another?

We are currently expecting our first, and are already thinking about when we will try for the next. Curious to see how long most people wait.

OBGYN always recommend waiting at least a year .. preferably 18 months.
Yeah my husband would just die if I️ wanted to try again before 18 months

My kids are 10,7,4, and currently 20 weeks 5 days pregnant. We waited until each child was potty trained to start trying for the next, then got a bit delayed due to life circumstances for this one.
Actually, we weren't trying for this one yet, but my body decided to expel my IUD. Must have been time!
