I see a lot of posts about using preseed lubricant, are other lubricants harmful to conceiving or just not necessarily helpful? what makes pressed different?

Yes! Most lubricants are harmful to the sperm. I don't use lubricants so I'm not sure which ones are okay, but a quick Google search should give you the answer.

Most other lubricants have spermicide in them and their viscosity is not conducive to sperm motility. Preseed is meant to mimic your body’s fertile cervical mucus, has no spermicide and helps sperm get where it needs to go.
