Boyfriend doesn’t compliment me

Is it normal that my boyfriend doesn’t compliment me often. And when he does I️ feel all bubbly. I️ cherish the ones I️ get from him. Today he kept telling me how pretty I️ am and it made me feel good. I️ just wished he did it more often.. am I️ selfish? We have been together for a year
