And I’m 14+2 weeks. Is she most likely going to use a Doppler to hear the heartbeat? What can I expect? This is my second appointment other than my first to confirm pregnancy and do blood work. Thanks!

For me, they used the Doppler at every appointment. You’ll pee in a cup every time. Then they check your vitals, probably check fundal height (they kinda poke you so they find the top of the uterus to find the height). You guys talk. And I think at this one they’ll offer you the blood test and genetic screening.

When i was 12 weeks my dr wasn’t able to find the heartbeat with the Doppler. It was my appointment to get ultrasound results from the week before. And then she ordered me blood work for 16 weeks so then at 17 weeks was my last prenatal appointment so she was finally able to get the heartbeat. We just got a obygn in town and he told her to usually wait until after 15 weeks to find heartbeat as it sometimes may not be picked up and just puts a scare on the mother. So to answer your question yes she will.

when I was 14 weeks a few ago she just used the Doppler talked and she asked if I want that blood test for down syndrome so I did that and then left she said 20 weeks I'll know the gender
