S/o cutting the cord?

My husband does not want to cut the umbilical cord, this is our first child. Just wondering if anyone else s/o is the same way, and should I be a little upset with his decision?

My husband didn't want to. You have no right to be upset, it's not your choice. you do it if you want to.

You shouting be upset. He could be nervous about it or think that he could mess it up. Or it could just kind of gross him out. Some people aren’t up for that type of thing. It’s okay and you shouting be mad at him for that.

My son fixed that issue and cut his own (ripped it whilst exiting). He has been stubborn and fiercely independent since.

My husband said he didn’t want to cause he wasn’t good “with all the blood and stuff” and I admit I was a bit disappointed but I let it go. In the moment tho the midwife asked him if he wanted to cut the chord and he did so you never know

I don't think I would want to either, actually. Even though I know there are no nerve endings in it and the baby can't feel it, it seems too much like cutting part of the baby!

My husband had no interest in cutting the cord - which kind of surprised me. It couldn't have been a blood thing because he watched everything and in the past has even put stitches in himself (under watchful eye of a doc) but he just wasn't interested. 
I was afraid they were going to drop our daughter when they started laughing after he told the OBGYN to cut the cord himself since we were paying him big bucks and he hadn't done anything yet. Luckily they didn't!
It's emotional for the men too - he might change his mind. But it's really not a big deal either way. Now if he decides he doesn't even want to be in the room - then I'd be pissed, but cut him some slack on not wanting to cut the cord.

I'm a midwife and some partners cut the cord and others don't - don't worry about it! Also a lot of partners who say no initially get very over emotional at the birth and change their minds x
