How do y’all deal with yalls baby?

My son is almost 8 months old. He used to sleep through the night. 10 or so hours. Now, he wakes around 2am, sometimes he wakes more than once. How do y’all deal with it? Do y’all let them cry it out till they fall back to sleep? We usually get him up, change him and feed him. But I️ think he is getting used to it now and expecting it. Advice? Thanks y’all!! Also, he is teething. So I’m sure he wakes bc of that also.

As a mom of soon to be 4, I’ve learned some things about how to deal when you’ve got a new baby. First, we have to learn to stop trying to get them to do what we want and instead have to work with what they’re giving us. When it comes to sleeping, most babies like to be close to mom. It is instinct. It makes them feel safe, loved and protected. For some odd reason, in this country, we see babies wanting to be near mom as a bad thing. We see babies wanting to be held as the worst thing. It’s not. It’s a natural and healthy thing for babies to want to be touched and cuddled. If your son wants to be near you to sleep, lay him near you. If your concerned about co sleeping or bed sharing, there are plenty of articles about how to do it safely. You’ll save yourself so much grief and sleepless nights if you just work with him. I promise you’ll spend more time fighting to get him to sleep in his bed than you would if you just grab him and lay him on or next to you. I’ve co slept or bed shared with all three of my kids and plan to with this new baby too. Sleeping was never an issue when they were little. Also, if baby wakes up but is quiet or is just babbling, leave them be. No need to pick them up or talk to them. Sometimes they need that alone time. My oldest was not a great sleeper. He took what I call “power naps” I learned early how to sleep even if he was awake as long as he wasn’t fussy. So I spent many a night asleep with him laying peacefully in his bassinet or pack n play.

he is old enough to self-sooth. give him a chance to cry, yell, play, etc.

mine wakes up every now and then she plays yells at her toes and such. if she fusses I give her her passy and she normally goes back to sleep.
