Do you plan to take birthing classes?

I don’t think I’ll be taking any classes. To me it’s a natural process and I trust my body to know exactly what to do on its own. 
I might take a parenting class though. FTM.

Birthing, infant safety and cpr, breastfeeding and my husband is taking a daddy day camp class as well.
We have to take classes to drive a car or get any type of license. Why wouldn’t I want an education to supplement WhT I already know and read about childbirth and child care?
To me it’s money invested in my child’s health- no better money to spend!

It’s personal preference but ya know the old saying “ knowledge is power” so I don’t see it causing any harm. Breastfeeding is natural but I think first timers need all the info they can possibly get in order to be successful and know what to expect.

I didn’t take classes either time. I just had my second and wish I would’ve taken a class to learn how to control my breathing and to stay calm. 
My labor this time was not easy by any means and got scary when babies heart wasn’t dealing well with contractions.

I took a birthing class and after it, I cannot imagine how anyone would skip it.
Yes, your body knows what it’s supposed to do but for there are any number of things that can happen and you can’t be prepared for all of the choices you’ll need to make if any of them happen.
An example being that I discovered in prenatal classes that I am anti-forceps - they passed them around and I started asking people in my life about them, reading about their use and I realized that a lot of babies get injured by the use of forceps - I personally know someone who’s baby’s collarbone got broken by them, another whose baby ended up having to be in the NICU. So as it turned out, during labor with my daughter she wouldn’t flip the right way and they told me it was forceps or c-section. If I hadn’t had the knowledge, I would have potentially given permission to use them, not knowing the risks. (The doctor ended up checking me again as they rolled me to the OR and she flipped in that moment so I was able to deliver naturally)
Everyone is different. A lot of people are cool with things that maybe you won’t be. In that moment, there’s a lot going on and you won’t always be given a list of choices - sometimes you’re just told about the ones that are convenient to your doctor. I’d say go and decide later if it was a waste of your time. My husband was SO grateful for the knowledge ahead of time.

The classes are free where I live but I also believe that education is important so I'll gladly learn whatever I can to improve my babies life.

The only reason we took a birthing class is because I wanted to prepare myself with ways to promote myself having a natural labor. No way I would have known all that info on my own. Plus it was a great way to help prep my husband to me my labor coach 😉

I want to because I'm fascinated and want to learn as much as I can. I trust my body to know what to do, but I don't trust my imagination not to run wild, so if I know what's going on, I think it will help me.

I'm doing breastfeeding and birthing classes. but I am not doing parenting. I feel I would get super frustrated and annoyed. Every parenting choices are different. some are protective. But I want them to learn on their own.

I don't think they're necessary. Your nurse will tell you everything you need to know while you're delivering.

I feel the same way! But I was getting so much grief from everyone, that I finally broke down and signed up for a one day, "just the facts" class at the hospital I will deliver at.
