It's a gift. If you spent $150 on his it should be bc you wanted to, not bc of how much he will spend on you in return. Personally though, I would feel uncomfortable getting a gift like that if I couldn't afford something in return.

I never really care how much my bf spends on me and idc how much I spend on him. If I find something cheap or expensive than so be it. He can get me cheap jewelery and I would love it (has to be cute and Sterling silver at least lol) it's the thought and love  behind the gift not the price tag honey.

I think you did ok. I am the same way. In highschool I had 4 jobs and made s lot of money for my age and I loved spoiling others, especially my boyfriend who was busy with sports so he had no job. Did it bother me? Yeah a little cause I wanted to be spoiled. But now 6 years later he is making all my dreams come true so I think itsok. If you care about him then get him what you can afford. But if he acts ungrateful then you should maybe reconsider being so extravagant.
