Why is everything so expensive???

Seriously, I'm so frustrated. 
My husband has Retrograde Ejaculation caused by a surgery he had to have when he was undergoing cancer treatment. Obviously we can't seem to conceive on our own despite trying home methods... 
We have sperm that's been frozen since before he underwent chemo 8 years ago. 
It's so frustrating that it's so expensive to use sperm you have frozen. Like, why?! Ugh. 
Insurance doesn't cover a penny of IVF and we were told that's our only option (IVF ICSI)
It just feels impossible ☹️😞

I'm with you I think I sunk into a depression more over what it's going to cost to get prego cuz I need IVF.... more then saddness cuz I need it if that makes any sense I dnt have family I dnt have savings I dnt have credit cards my hubby is  a railroader but here in Ohio the Insurneve coverage isn't good at all plus railroad is at a all time low for 1st time in 100 years so yah I dnt sleep much between that and the longing to just have another sweet baby costs weigh on me allllll day every day so ur not alone it's the most loneliest  ever 😧😧😧😧😧😟😢😩🙏

Hey RM, I know how it feels when there is zero coverage from the insurance. But don’t loose hope, most fertility clinics have financial advisors who can offer you different options - none of them are cheaper though... But at least you have something to choose from and some times the clinic can have a shared risk program where they guarantee a live birth else they refund you 50,80 or100% money back - depends on ur particular case...

My husband also has retrograde ejaculation do to a birth defect at the base of his bladder. It’s always been that way. We’ve tried sudafed, didn’t work at all no matter the dosage. Urologist seems to think that we will be able to get pregnant with iui. She thinks the fertility clinic can wash the sperm from his urine, and use that for iui. That’s if his sperm quality is perfect. I’m skeptical, just because we have hit so many dead ends. We’ve been TTC 2 years. Also, our insurance doesn’t cover anything either. We have no savings, and I’ve just started a business, so we are kinda “in the hole” right now. We are both 30 yrs old. Feeling pretty bleak over here. I hope you find something that works, that would give me hope too.

Its expensive because a lot of tech goes into freezing/thawing sperm and still having it viable for use.
Plus the staff that are trained to do it.
It's not a roast chicken.

I’ve read about methods to use the semen that ends up in the bladder.  After ejaculation, he would empty his bladder and they would be able to separate the sperm from the urine.
